Charity

websiteChrist the King Roman Catholic Church is situated in N.U.9 Mdantsane.  It is surrounded by communities that are not well off and this creates a lot of challenges for the Church due to the fact that the Church used to get donations from overseas but the donations has since dried up.  The Youth group comprises of children aged between 6 and 21 years old.  This outing also serves as a team building exercise. For some of the children it is the only outing that they have for the entire school holidays.  It's an event that they look forward to.

Pumla Madliwa is the current Youth Mentor.  She was selected to this position in 2011.  Since she became the Mentor she saw a need that the Youth needed to have activities outside of the Church to bring a positive change.

The first Christmas party they had was in 2011 which she got a donation for

1 Quantum from Eugene's Executive Transport but it wasn't enough as we had to leave other children behind.  The rest of the items were provided by the Mentor. In 2012 we got transport sponsorship from A.S.A.P for two busses which took the children to and from the beach.  The other donation was by JL Goliath Construction who sponsored the party packs, being steak, mutton, pork and sausage.  The cool-drinks and the bread rolls were donated by the Mentor. The Youth were able to provide their own snacks.

We are very grateful for all the donations that we have received as this is an important event for the Youth of our Church.

In the picture is some of the Youth that went to take a swim, somewhere sitting at the picnic spot as they were afraid of the sea.

'ASAP Rentals and properties are grateful that we could contribute to this church activity.'
